Hi there,
For the past couple of months, we've been unable to update any plugins on this site - http://www.beltanenetwork.org.
When we try and update the plugin using the Wordpress interface, an error message comes up saying that the old version of the plugin cannot be deleted. This is happening with every different plugin that needs to be updated(currently 15 in total).
An old thread (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-upgrade-failing-cannot-remove-old-plugin?replies=25) suggested that after several attempts to update the plugin using the Wordpress interface, the update would eventually work, but this hasn't worked for me. We also have loads of disk space left, so that's not an issue.
This isn't to do with the upgrade to Wordpress 4.0, as it was also happening with version 3.8.4 that we used previously. It *may* have started after the site's database was restored from a backup, but I can't be sure.
I've tried manually deleting the plugins using FTP but they're also not deleting that way.
Any ideas? I don't want to start through the more complex fixes mentioned on old threads as I'm not yet sure that this is the same issue.
Many thanks.
