Primitive on "[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Upgrading Jetpack Always Hangs"

OK - this still happened with the update to 2.01, but removing W3 Total Cache seems to have done the trick. Not sure of the problem there because I use them both on other sites with ease, but it at least gives me somewhere to start looking!
